10th
kyu white belt 0 - 3 month
9th
kyu white belt 3 - 6 month
8th
kyu yellow belt 6 - 9 month
7th
kyu orange belt 9 - 12 month
6th
kyu green belt - 12 month ( basic skills: ukimi, nage, atemi, yawara and ne waza,
must demonstrate control skills over all white belts )
5th
kyu blue belt - 2 years ( fair skills: ukimi, nage, atemi, kensetsu, shime, yawara,
osakomi and ne waza, randori, tanto, bo, must demonstrate control skills over
all green belts )
4th
kyu purple belt - 3 years ( good skills: ukimi, nage, atemi, kensetsu, ashi, shime,
yawara, osakomi and ne waza, randori, fair knowledge of weapons, must demonstrate
leadership, loyalty, respect, trust, basic restoration techniques and control
skills over all low ranking students )
3rd
kyu brown belt - 4 years ( excellent skills in all waza, good weapons skills,
good restoration techniques, demonstrate good example to all students in loyalty,
respect, trust and leadership, help sensei to teach & demonstrate techniques
)
2nd kyu
brown belt - 5 years ( proficient in all Ju-Jitsu techniques, restoration therapy,
assuming the role of sempai - senior student )

kyu brown belt - 6 years ( assistant instructor )
